Our Objectives
In-depth study of Buddhist philosophy and Buddhist logic along with its history, culture and arts.
The study of canonical literature along with ancient classical languages like Sanskrit, Pali and Bhoti, and also modern languages like Hindi and English.
The study of modern subjects such as Indian History, Bauddh Puranic History, Comparative Philosophy, Political Science, Economics, Mathematics and General Science.
Teaching Pali, English, Hindi, Indian History, Political Science and Economics at PG level.
Making the institute a Research Centre of Excellence and providing PhD programs in all the subjects available in the institute in order to provide opportunity to the poor students of Ladakh.

Admission Requirements
So far, the university has conferred certificates to the 2016 – 2017 – 2018 students, and for 2018-2019, has been teaching Diploma, BA and MA classes.

Monks, Novices, and Nuns who have passed Paṭhamagyi (the title of higher level of Pali) exam held by Government
Those with a university degree
B.A
Program Duration: 3 years
Eligible Candidates:
Monks, Novices and Nuns who have passed Sāsanadhajadhammācariya (the title of Dhamma Teacher) held by
Government
Monks, Novices, and Nuns who have passed Paṭhamagyi (the title of higher level of Pali) exam held by Government and hold a Diploma from a Buddhist University
Laypersons who hold a diploma from a Buddhist University, in addition to a regular university degree
M.A
Program Duration: 2 years
Eligible Candidates:
Monks, Novices and Nuns who have passed Sāsanadhajadhammācariya (the title of Dhamma Teacher) held by Government
Monks, Novices and Nuns who hold a BA degree from a Buddhist University
All candidates must be fluent in English to the degree as specified by the University
